LAITE JEWELRY
I MET KRISTYN THROUGH Instagram because we both are kindred writers/readers so we bonded over that, and ALSO I love her amazing jewelry. She created and runs Laite Jewelry and her pieces are so perfect and right up my alley. I am late to the game when it comes to wearing any sorts of jewelry aside from the ID bracelet I've been wearing since I was seven years old and, of course, my wedding ring-- which is very understated.
What I love about her jewelry line is that it's very delicate and elegant, simple but with very thought-out and intricate detail. I like that symbiotic balance of simplicity AND attention to craft and detail. It's kind of what I look for in every aspect of my life: food, fashion, and fiction. Each piece seems effortless, but you can see that a lot of care goes into each one as well.
I was fortunate enough to receive two beautiful pieces from her newest collection: a pair of her amazing, delicate Arch earrings as well as a new exclusive item which is going to be one of the few limited quantity items of a twenty piece collection that will be released month by month. I'm so excited to be a part of promoting the piece that was given to me, a gorgeous necklace called the Moon Phase necklace. It's on a short, almost choker-length (but longer) chain, and it's got these beautiful speckled indentations along the crescent shape. I've worn it so, so many times already. It goes with everything!
Most recently, I wore it to a trip to Los Angeles to have breakfast at the Ace Hotel (best avocado toast and ricotta pancakes! I was so in love with the pancakes and the brown sugar butter that I went home and tried-- unsuccessfully-- to recreate it) and then a visit to the LA Flower District for peonies with my friend Abbie, who is an amazing photographer. She and Kaity make up Reid & Hudson Photography; I highly recommend them for all your photography needs. All photos of me in this post were taken by Abbie.
